Traits: its hydrochloride is colorless, odorless small needle-like or leaflet-like crystals, taste slightly bitter, tongue taste a blunt feeling. Soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in chloroform. Its aqueous solution is unstable, especially in the light, acid and alkali substances perishable.
Pharmacology and application: local anesthetic. The product can make the cell membrane stability, reduce its permeability to the ion, so that when the nerve impulses, sodium, potassium ions can not be out of the cell membrane to produce depolarization and action potential, resulting in local anesthesia. The goods on the mucosal penetration is poor, not suitable for surface anesthesia, but the toxicity is small, the effect is indeed applied to infiltration anesthesia. Can also be used to block anesthesia, epidural anesthesia.
